About Me Essay:
First and foremost - feel free to contact me. Whether they are right or wrong, I have opinions and these opinions cannot be changed unless someone challenges me with a real fact based rebuttal. I'm not out here just for everyone else. With every question I answer, I learn something more about myself.
Here is my position on several popular questions: Emotional abuse: This has got to be one of the biggest cop outs of our time. I learned as a child that "Sticks and stones my break my bones but words will never hurt me." Anytime you place someones words over your own sense of self worth, or your own thoughts about your self, *you* are responsible for the emotional abuse. No one else. Read Viktor Frankl's book "Man's search for Meaning". Frankl was a holocaust survivor. In this book he talks about how the Nazi's tortured him, however, no matter what they did to his body, they couldn't touch who he was. If Frankl can survive a Nazi concentration camp, with people "emotionally" and physically abusing him, I think we can survive most anyone's verbal assaults, don't you? (work in progress) |
