Will he want me back now?

My b/f and i broke up after five years (cheating on me) anyway i pretty much begged him back, yesterday i told him i didn't want him back anymore, My friends tell me ... Once you tell them that they will want you back is this true?
He told me he wasn't ready to come back, and i answered screw your not ready to come back i don't want you back. Why would him want to come back now, he hasn't said that but that's the way it goes from what i've been told.
