Why do Indian men rape women?

Why do Indian men rape women?

In the context of Delhi Gang Rape of 16th December 2012, the most brutal and heinous gang rape, why do Indians rape women so much?
This country claims to worship female deities and says they are morally superior and have a decent 'culture' so where is this culture?

The men of this country be it educated or uneducated have the same mindset. Women are commodities. They way the girl was raped on 16th December with iron rods used to shred her intestines and other body parts, shows what a perverted mindset those men had and how they were treating her as a 'thing'.

The men mutilate women with acid attacks, verbal and domestic abuse, gang rapes or rapes or treat them as sluts. Clothes DO NOT play any role. Most girls who are raped are dressed in Indian wear and are from rural areas or families. and not western wear. 5 year old girls aren't dressed in bikinis that they get raped by perverts.

I am not bringing US or any other country because they DO NOT claim to be morally superior or worship female gods. India does make these claims.

So whats the deal with Indian men? Are these people so mentally sick, depraved and perverted?

Not all Indians are Hindu, a good amount are Muslim, and India is so populated that every major religion has ample representation. To say that they all worship female deities is fallacy. And India is the most populated country in this world per capita, just from the numbers alone, there is statistically going to be more rape. You are brushing with a very broad stroke here to say that all Indian men are rapists. But getting back to the rape, sadly women are treated as second class in many of the multiple ethnic groups that reside in India to this day, so add culture to the statistics, and the outcome is bleak. Female inferiority is part of many of these ethnic group's culture going way back. But back to the rape incident, it erupted tons of protests, not only in India, but globally. The rapists accused were all sentenced to death by hanging, and the global outrage lead to India adopting changes in their laws. So at least they are trying to take action, or make it look that way. You have to look at India's history also. The caste system, the British, undivided nation...etc.

Like everyone else they are a product of their culture..the mindset has been going on for eons.

I have read many stories albeit fiction of the low value of female babies. How a good deal of the time they would be killed by their own fathers. Boys were honored.

It's a backward country but rape by angry men is everywhere I'm afraid. and to think it was women who gave the bastards LIFE in the first place.....totally appalling.

Their culture encourages sexism. A lot of Indian men are not rapists, but are taught to treat their women rough.

India is just another repressed country trying to stay repressed. The world is making waves in a closed society.

Rape is an act of power used by the powerless that are assuming they are powerful by the act.

Look for places where men lack a clear pathway to anything that looks like a social success, and you might be looking at places where sexual assault is both present and overlooked.

I would imagine that their culture feels that it's the man that gives their wife value and status while women without a husband by their side have little to no value in status ... Therefore they can do what they wish.

I can only surmise, with some certainty, that Indian men are products of their screwed-up culture, which is based on screwed-up traditions, which are based on screwed-up beliefs !! They fall into the Western categories of murderers, rapists, and abusers... throw them all UNDER the jail !
