Do the Amish pay taxes?

Wouldn't tax be considered modern considering they live in a style before income tax and such?

That really is a good question about the Amish and taxes. On one hand they are not apart of everything qmodern but they are of course, religious and Jesus said to give to God what is Gods and to give to Ceasar what is Ceasars. So i really can't tell. For staying away from modernization, I have to say i was really sure was surprisef when i saw some with a cell phone.

Yes no one is immune, even if your income is in the form of livestock being born or farm food that you could possibly sell. The gov't especially gets them for property taxes

Taxes have always been around. It's suggested that writing was invented as a means of keeping inventory and for tax purposes.
