Has anyone ever had surgery for a herniated or ruptured disc?

I know a 76 yo man that had this done and wanted to move his lawn 4 days later. Hope yours turns out as well.

No never but you can ask your doctor about recovery time before you get the surgey. My friend had leg surgey and they told her 8 weeks.

I almost had to have surgery for a herniated disk in my neck, the pain was awful. I pitched for softball and I went too far. My pt said that if I threw as much as just 1 more pitch, then my softball career would've been over and I would of had to have surgery. But I went to physical therapy, and now Im fine. Best of luck to you.

If you have surgery for Anterior Cervical Fusion, you better make sure that you are seeing a spinal surgeon. Google it and you can read up what the process is and the outcome. You will lose some mobility in your neck due to the fusing of the spine. You'll be in a neck brace for a while and limited physical activity with no lifting. Good luck to you.
