Could be the oils in the coffee. I need a little more detail.

Try cleaning it once with vinegar water (2/3 vinegar and 1/3 water) just like you were making a full pot. Let that combination sit in the brew station for about an hour before turning your machine on and running it. After you have run that through once then run a pot of plain water through it.

If that doesn't help I would say to return the coffee maker to it's place of purchase and exchange it for something else.

I wouldn't want to drink coffee that looks scummy.

The other question is, did you change coffee brands or open a new container of coffee? Maybe it's the brand of coffee you are using?

Hope this helps.

There are two reasons that come to mind.

One is that the oil from the beans is coming to the surface in the pot. This can happen more with flavored coffees. It shouldn't happen as fast as what you're describing, though.

The other reason could be that your coffee maker and/or coffee pot need a thorough cleaning with vinegar and distilled water to remove old residue. You should really do this once a month if you use your machine daily.

I would return the coffee maker and try a new one.If the new one does it it may be a change in your water.
