Yes. I think people should have to take an IQ test before being allowed to gestate a pregnancy to term. And if they score below average, they shouldn't be allowed to reproduce.

As of now, we are allowing illiterate cretins to breed in huge numbers and then we WONDER why our country is in such a sorry state.

Not only should they have to take test, they should have to a class and pass it, prove that they can financially support the child without government assistance, and be MARRIED.

Some of these people are so damn pathetic, I would bet a simple BLOOD TEST could weed out most of them. Because there has to be something MAJOR missing.

Yes, I think it would be a great idea. We have to get licences for all sorts of things, and yet anyone can have a child. I think things like basic empathy, responsibility, conflict resolution skills, etc should be mandatory. Also, some should undergo psychological testing. Anyone with a history of violent crime should NOT be allowed to have a child. Nor someone who has been abusive to others in the past (physical abuse, emotional abuse, etc).

Although the idea of "taking a test" before being "allowed" to have a child has nothing to do with "Has any1 got tips..."'s question, yes, I think there should be a minimum something. However, this could never be done in a free society juxtaposed to, say, Ayn Rand's "Anthem", for a loose example. I propose a "license" to bear children whereby you pass a basic safety class, e.g. Are you aware that infants cannot be fed babyfood? Are you + for crack when you take the class? Obviously not taking the class cannot stop someone from having a baby; but if they refuse, they might be required (fined otherwise or evaluated by some agency like CPS) to take a follow-up class. If they fail the class, then they'd be subject to follow-up home visits by some agency making sure the baby is in good care. There could be those exempt from taking the class, say if they're over 18 and/or if they're drug-free or similar criteria like that.
