The person that said that is either jealous, in love, or observant. It means their spirt, their life, their persona if you will has been broken, something I almost was a victim of myself, until I realized the inner bitch calling saying I will never be broken, maybe a little tamed, but not broken.

If someone says that about themselves they are usually really messed up, cannot function properly, most likely depressed or suicidal. I would avoid such people unless you want to put up with all that.

It's a ploy used by players to manipulate you into trying to fix them, then they will feel guiltless when they trash you because, hey you were warned.

Sounds like my last ex... divorced, toxic ex, toxic kids, no career, likely to become homeless, and utterly undateable. She hit bottom and then dropped a bomb on herself by getting badly injured with a horse.

I usually say the words "I am broken" to my bf when I am on my period. He knows what it means but it avoids saying the "p" word. lol.

A person broken has a spirit totally destroyed.
How sad

It means that they missed out on the love of their life.

The one who makes it 'work' for them.

Something went wrong... and they can't feel 'complete' unless it's back together again.

I know it seems silly, but it's just plain true. =-)

This person has somehow suffered a vast disappointment that has somehow altered his / her personality in a bad way.

It may not be a romantic thing--it may have something to do with being disillusioned by someone s/he respected.

Wow, I have never heard "broken" applied to a woman's period. I don't get the connection.

Anyway, as others have said, "broken" usually means that one's spirit is broken. Interestingly, many psychologists believe that admitting that one is wounded or broken and seeking help is actually an indicator of mental health. The truly crazy ones never admit or face that they're nuts because they don't think they are.

I agree that you should proceed with caution if someone tells you they are broken but I wouldn't write them off completely. They may just be in the middle of clearing a lot of garbage out of their life.
