Since I'm taking Warfarin (blood-thinner and rat poison) since my operation,

I have to go every two weeks to get my level check (blood test) - then wait for a phone call in the afternoon to tell me if I should stay on the same level on medication, increase or decrease ...

Every time the dude calls he asks "Did you forget to take any doses since the last time you were tested?"

How the hell would I remember if I forgot to take a dose?

I am not an "indian-giver" - in essence I do not take back a star once given. Thanks for the HUGS though

It's just a canned question they have to ask you to make sure the testing is accurate.

Hi Lom.. Is a standard question all Doctors an RNs have to ask including Pathology regaring Warfarin and other S an RX drugs.. U will be surprised how many ppl do forget to take this drug as some take before or after meals and not with other meds.. If this tab is forgotten tabs can always be counted back.
This drug has vaious side effects an why has to be adjusted often.
Slight bumps to skin turn into bruises and possible skin tears. minor bleeds ie shaving cuts turn into long bleeding than usual while ppl are on this drug, so take care Lom..
Hope your recovering faster now. cheers.

you're taking rat poison??? Next time he calls and asks that, ask him if he's ever taken the Warfarin cuz he sounds like he's had a little too much rat poision. Nah, in all seriousness, it's like being asked if you've fasted the required time before lab tests--in the meantime you're standing there with your stomach audibly grumbling--it's one of those "this is stupid but I have to ask" questions

sometimes you miss your medication and remember later.. when you remember later its too late to take it , because its too close to your next dose.
I know what you mean but I guess they need to ask.
