I just saw the "Visit California" commercial with all the Celebrities.

They showed someone snowboarding.
I didnt know it snowed in California.

We have the Sierra Nevada's here. It snows there and there is some ok skiing and snow boarding.

Northern California has mountains and forests and winter snow and cold weather.

since california extends so far north and south along the coast it's got a pretty good range of weather/climate. there are sections where it's really dry and hot, desert like; there are sections where it's very temperate, and others where it gets downright cold.

Northern CA has Mt Shasta. A bonafide volcano with glaciers. :)

You should read the story of the Donner immigrant party. They were trapped in twelve feet of snow, at what is now Donner Summit, and survived by cannibalism.
That kind of snow is typical in the Sierras, except the last few years have been pretty scarce.
We rarely see snow around San Francisco, except above, say, 2,000'. We have a number of peaks that are above that. Last December, it snowed down to sea level.

If I really were so inclined, I could surf in the morning and be snowboarding in the afternoon......It is a wonderful state for ALL kinds of outdoor activities..... :)

They held the Winger Olympics in California, Squaw Valley, a few years ago. Lots of snow in the mountains.

There are plenty of mountains and ski slopes in California.
I haven't seen that ad, but the "celebrities" are nothing more than a reason to avoid that state, in my opinion.

Go North red, there's mountains in the Northern regions and wonderful ski slopes.
