How often do you change your bed sheets? - NOT A JOKE -I, heard a report on the radio (Half listening) and thought I, heard most British people only change their Sheets 3 to 4 times a year.

I was taught bath every night. Before bed. This will remove most of the daily smell and dirt. Change your sheets once a week.

I sometime change mine every other day depending on whether or not the cats have been in the bed. They like to get under the covers and keep warm and I can't stand the sandy stuff they leave behind.

I am sure you are correct! Otherwise it would not have been noteworthy!!! In the days of queens and kings, it was common for the general public (for the most part) to have a room only for dirty clothes and they only done clothes washing 2 times a year...THE START OF THE LAUNDRY ROOM???? Can you imagine and bathing and the perfumed bodies that we are accustomed to really DID NOT COME TO BE until around/shortly after the Cowboy and Indian days...THEY LITERALLY did not take a bath but once a week AT THE MOST and if on a cattle drive maybe not til the end of it...

Weird. I have to admit I only change mine once a monthish, BUT most of the time I sleep on top of my comforter (not against the sheets), plus I have a huge bed and sleep on either side and I always wear clean pjs to bed. My blanket I de-fur weekly with a lint brush and a wet washcloth (damn cats) and usually have it washed every other month. Hey, I gotta pay for laundry plus it's a hassle so I cut corners-- but every 3-4 months seems extreme.

Mine is about once a week. I'd say if it were up to me and I had more time for laundry I'd do twice. 3-4 times a year makes me sick...even if you are a night bather ( i like baths at night and showers in the morning) you still get skin cells and drool on your sheets (and other bodily fluids lol)....bleh

I would say I change mine once every week, maybe every two. I stay with my boyfriend when my daughter's father keeps her overnight, and she and I visit my mom a couple times a week and typically stay the night when we do because it's a 50 mile drive. So depending on how many nights I've actually slept in them, 1-2 weeks.

I do it when I have the strength... I'm wallowing in a King-sized bed...and do not "flip" the sheets, either, from one side to another or top to bottom. I do it when I am ready and have the energy....

It depends on who and what the bed is used for. Mine when i was married to the second wife we usually had to wash sheets weekly and change them about every other night. On the other hand now days sleeping alone once a week suffices.

I can't imagine any one only changing their sheete 3 to 4 times a year. I change ours once a week. If I could afford to pay some one to do it they would be changed every day. I'm just not physcally up to it.

Yikes!! I change mine weekly, but if the critters sneak in my bed while I'm at work and leave their fur, 2 x's a week. Achoo!! I wouldnt think 3 or 4 times a yr. would smell so fragrant. thanks, downunder

Interesting question. Sometimes I go 3-4 weeks. But if and when I have an overnight guest, they always get clean sheets.

Wow--that is alarming. Maybe they sleep on top of plastic sheeting?? Ha. Mine are changed every two or three days. Love the feel of fresh sheets to sleep on--especially if they are still warm from the dryer.
