What are some calming words or phrases you use to calm your self down when you're stressed?

It is possible give commands to one own self.

1. Close your eyes, and repeat to yourself: Relax...Relax...Relax.. . Say it a few times at small intervals.

2. Close your eyes and tell your self: Relax Ms (your own name). Repeat it 3-4 times.

3. Try concentrating on any one part of your body, say one hand, leg etc. try to evaluate its condition, size, texture of skin, nerves visible etc.

The main aim in all these is to divert your attention from irritating thing or situation. You can devise your own ways too.

I have a most difficult time calming myself during stress. Therefore, I pray. Also talk openly with a good, trusted friend until I can think clearly again.

I tend to resort to praying and such... not sure if that helps much for you. The AA prayer helps......

I just tell myself that im okay. this doesnt make me forget the situation by any stretch but it gives me time to think in a more calm state of mind

My favorite if they dont stop it I am going to kill them all and let GOD sort them out ha ha! NO I just close my eyes and say to myself its OK now, its ok now and deep breath like meditation, I am a Martial Artist, 4th Degree Black Belt in karate and a 3rd kyu Brown Belt in JUDO and have learned this tech!!
