Has anyone read up on the cat Oscar who can detect when people are going to die at said clinicin Providence, Rhode Island? Dr. Dosa suggests that it could be a high sense of smell or the cat has a special empathy. Your thoughts? Ideas on how the cat does this? - Asked by Male, 46-55 |

No, it's just that animals are smarter than humans. For one, they rely on non-verbal communication. And their senses are stronger than humans.

Predatory carnivores have a well developed sense of smell that can find death from far away. If the person is dying they likely start smelling dead in some parts.

Animals are extremely attuned to every aspect of the natural world, and that includes death. I don't know if it is their sense of smell, or some other unknown ability. It has been speculated that animals can sense changes in the "electromagnetic field" around the earth and around other living creatures, and that could be the same reason why animals get nervous BEFORE anyone knows that an earthquake or tornado is coming - they sense it.
