How late can a period be within reason due to factors like stress, medications, illness, etc?I know these sorts of things can make a period come late, but how late is late? Is it delayed by just a couple days? A week? Does it vary for each person and situation? If anyone knows or has a good guess do tell. - Asked by happygolucky33, An Alternative Girl, Female, 22-25, Student |

I was on a medication called Methadone for 4 years and I only had on average 1-2 periods a year. I went to my doctor and he said not to worry about it. Now I dont know if thats good advice for you, I guess it would depend on the reasoning behind you not having your period. But in my case the meds caused it and it was just one of those blessed side effects that make it all worthwhile

There are many medical situations which can cease menstrual cycles completely. Anorexia and extreme physical training are two.

It varies...I skipped mine for a good two months due to stress, but it pregnancy a possibility? If it is, then wait a week and take a test...then repeat the next week.

Your body is regulated by the release of certain hormones & different medications or stress can affect your body's processes. Even excessive weight gain or loss can too. My periods have come late before, no more than two weeks when not pregnant, but my Sister literally went months. My cycles have always been pretty regular where as hers have always been irregular. Every person is different & has different reactions to things going on in their bodies & life. If you think you could be pregnant, take a test. If it is negative wait a week then take another. If it doesn't show up by a week after the second test then you might want to make an appt. with you Dr.

This is a good question and I haven't really a clue. But do to a lot of stress back in the summer time, my period didn't show up for nearly 3 months. Might be a good question to ask a doctor, because every person is different in regards to what meds they may take, stress level and things like that.
