I was on long term prednisone use, for RA, and have gained 50 pounds in 3 years.

I had gastric bypass in 2002 and lost over 100 pounds. My diet has not increased, still can't eat much, usually no more than 1200 calories a day. How can I restart my metabolism with mobility issues, and restart my adrenal glands working properply?

I am no doctor but a good exercise program will do you a lot of good. Also consult with a dietician.

Prednisone is a double-edged sword! My mother was on heavy does of it after her kidney transplant. She also gained weight, developed "moon face", and would perspire heavily around her neck.
Do you have any of those symtoms? Do you bruise easily? Do you have dark blotches on your skin, particularly your arms?

exercise is the best way to jump start your metabolism. since you have mobility issues try exercises that are easy on the joints such as swimming, yoga, palates, or an eliptical machine.
