Why are godiva chocolates so expensive?

They're such a ripoff.
In fact, Nestle uses a richer cocoa % in their chocolates. Nestle is the "better" chocolate.
This kind of stuff ticks me off.

You are right. It is the name. Long ago I sold them in a department store and they
were stale for sure. Be careful with name brands. I am sure you know more than I do ..

Marketing has given them a very desirable brand name. It's the old business model still working for some. Like Rolex watches...are they really ten or twenty times better than other Swiss made watches, based on price? No.

Something wrong with your tastebuds. I'm not sure but I think it has to do with the amount of parafin they use to make the chocolate melt at different temperatures.

nestles chocolate to me is the Wal-mart of chocolates. I know chocolates and hersheys is 5 steps up from nestles.
