I have a toothache that's driving me insane

It started last night and the dentist can't get me in until tomorrow morning. Is there any tricks to dull the pain until my appointment? Tylenol and Ibuprofin aren't helping, they just make the pain feel worse (which is really weird). Last night the pain was so bad I could barely sleep.

Well...they're gonna do a root canal, buildup and a crown...yay...not so much. they gave me ammox. and loritab too

Thanks for all your advice. I actually set up an appt. with my dentist for 8am tomorrow morning while I was on my lunch break b/c that was the earliest he could get me in. I just don't do well with pain at all. I managed to get through dinner somehow, I just need to make it through the night without it waking me up now.

Hot compress usually works for me...get a kitchen towel and soak it with super hot water as hot as u can touch...then stick it in the microwave for a second or 2 and put it to your face...the heat draws out the pain for a while. If you have a heating pad that works even better...just sleep on it with a light towel or pillow case over it. It works...i have to have my wisdom teeth pulled and i experience ALOT of pain

I have the PERFECT ANS.......I had the same prob...but I was on a trip....and had to drive 10 hours home with it !!!!

I could not stand it.....so I stopped at a PHARMACY...and asked the PHARMACIST FOR HELP !!!!

HE SAID.....YOU CAN DOUBLE THE DOSAGE of an OTC FOR TWO DAYS IF YOU HAVE TO....and it will not harm you....but it WILL GIVE YOU RELIEF !!!

SO IF IT CALLS FOR TWO EVERY FOUR HOUR>>>>TAKE FOUR !!!!

You are just not taking ENOUGH of your OTC...I used IBUPROPHEN.Each of our bodies react diff to those two...so you might have to try both..but its cheap and when you really need help..$$ is not an issue..I am sure you will agree.

I TELL YOU....it was BLISS !!!! I GOT RELIEF ENOUGH TO DRIVE HOME........and each time the pain got too much.....I JUST POPPED THE DOUBLE DOSAGE and in 10 mins I was pain free again !!! AND able to drive without getting drowsy.

IT REALLY WORKS......I bought a bottle of 20 or 24......not sure....and it got me thru a full day and night....with enough left to get me to the DR's office the next day....cuz once you get to sleep, you prob won't need to take a dose for 6-8 hours.

TRY IT......ITS CHEAP.....SAFE....and EFFECTIVE !!!!

Bite down on an Aspirin while you allow it to dissolve. It will remove all the pain from the tooth ache.
