There is no way to tell how your body will handle it until you the drugs are in you.
Pitocin WILL give you contractions, but some women can have contractions all day long and not dialate completely. Sometimes they just aren't effective enough, which can lead to a c-section.
But you know you can google stuff like this, or ask your DOCTOR, instead of re-posting the same question over and over again.

I believe it causes the contractions, and the contractions cause dialation.

There is also this gel they can put on your cervix to soften it, which helps in dialation.

Why are you giving people 1's and jerks who are taking their time to answer the SAME question over and over for you.
It's just rude.
If you don't like what people have to say, then do some research on your OWN.
However I work in L&D and told you the CORRECT answer about the pitocin and you have me a 1.
So since you don't know the answer and won't believe it.
GO GOOGLE IT!

What good is a contraction if the "doorway" is still closed? The contractions will move the cervix into dilation...
