put them in a paper bag on the counter. The gases released by them will help to make them ripe faster--gotta love watching Food Network! lol

Put it in a paper bag with another piece of ripe fruit and it will ripen by tomorrow.

And quit biching at your mother. You'd be screwed if she quit feeding your ungrateful ass now wouldn't You?

I was a Chiquita rep, believe it or not.

kept in the plastic (you can add the paper bag mentioned if you wish) and placed in a WARM place will hasten their ripening considerably.

Put the bananas in a paper bag and close it - it doesn't have to be fully sealed, just fold over the top.

What this does is traps the ethylene that the bananas naturally produce (and are also gassed with, prior to being shipped to supermarkets) inside the bag, causing the bananas to ripen more quickly. Once the bananas have reached the desired stage of ripeness, remove them from the paper bag and put them in the refrigerator - this will slow down the ripening process. While in the refrigerator, and in a very short period of time, the skins will turn very dark in color - but don't be alarmed. The fruit inside will keep for several days before becoming over-ripe.

You can also use this method to ripen pears, avocados and more - just put the unripe item in a paper bag with a banana (or an apple.)

Try this Jamaican trick.
Wrap them individually in news paper and put them away in a dark closet or cupboard...it will be rip in two days!

just let them sit on the counter top and they will turn. Sometimes people swear by putting them in a paper bag.
