How long after pregnancy did it take you to get back your shape? I've gained 22lbs so far. Any tips?

How long did it take you to get your body back after pregnancy?

I'm pretty short, but my tummy is huge now. I heard you look the same right after you give birth, did that happen to you?

I am giving birth in a couple of weeks, and have gained about 20lbs.

I've been going swimming, but it exhausts me to even go 30 lanes now, I used to be able to do a lot of sports, but I get tired really easily now.

How long did it take you to get back to normal?

i gave birth two weeks ago. my stomache muscles ripped down the middle. ouch. but you do have flab after a baby as expected, but it will go away. wear a belly bandit and it will help even more.breastfeeding helps you lose weight too. just eat right after you have the baby and drink lots of water. the weight will go away. im down to about 190 and i was 215 before Alex was born. you'll be fine dont stress it.

no you won't look the same after birth. All these pounds are because you've got water and a baby. After birth your uterus will start contracting which is painful and you have to get it checked pretty often because if it doesn't contract fully you might have complications. You'll need to work on your muscles and do some excercises, ask your doctor. I had to tie my belly tight, you can get special spandex for that. the first 2 months you'll feel and look different but after that you'll get back to your original shape, if you don't eat too much. Feel free to ask anything if you need advice. Good luck!

Follow your natural growth and STOP trying to compare your body with what people did to get in shape! HAVE a healthy FAT baby FIRST and then go on stupid crazy diets!!

I read a study that females that run with high cardiovacular heart rates have more baby problems then the ones that take it easy...so take it easy!

This is one time you can quit working out for the health of ur baby. Relax, eat, gain weight...and lose it all after u have a healthy baby. Walk or do minimal weight lifting but nothing strenuous like swimming..,good luck!!

From a man's perspective, I can only tellyou....

You gradually put it on, so you basically remember how long it took....and it'll gradually come off the same way but in less time....minus the baby.

okay it's been a year and 8 months now and i still have a little pooch but i think its because i haven't taken good care of my self..so just I'm going to tell you the opposite of what i do...lol...Exercise, eat healthy(or as healthy as u can), and wait until the baby is born to exercise as u used to, i did however and by the way, u don't look the same after child birth, maybe in the future but not right after you have the baby you will feel very different. another thing that helps with the stretchmarks is Shea coco butter..it helped me A LOT...oh and also have the belly tight with like corsets and stuff like that, it will get itchy a a point but don't scratch that just makes the stretchmarks bigger...good luck with the baby and Congrats.

first things first, your pregnant with a person inside you
so your limited in doing anything that gets you really exhausted.
Yes! you will seem overweight after birth. The asian women(Japanese and Chinese ladies) hibernate for a Whole month.
We don't exercise for the first month and half. We sleep and eat
health for the whole month. We sleep when the baby sleep. we limit bath taking because the body is still filled with baby residue in us. We drink chinese herbal soup to cleanse our insides before we start our diets. It is good for "you" in the long run. That is our secret to being youthful. No going out of the house for a month and a half. Your body will thank you.
when you get older. Asian woman don't bathe right after born.
she doesn't even do housework until about 2 weeks. the right time for you to recuperate is half 2 months. I have to lovely
grown up children. My son is 24 and my daughter is 22 year old now. Everyone says I look like their older sister. I'm 47 years old now. I feel like I'm 30 yr old. Most important to take care of your whole body not just one part of it. From Brooklyn

22 pounds isn't a lot to gain during pregnancy. If it's your first you'll probaby be back in your old clothes within a couple of weeks.

I assume that this is your first pregnancy. Yes, you don't lose the big tummy right after the birth but the weight will usually drop off after several months. You will be unbelieveably busy with a new baby and that will help take the weight off. If you decide to breastfeed the weight will even melt off faster. I gained over 40lbs with each baby but worked it off after each one with just caring for them and talking walks with the stroller. Don't worry about the weight - just eat healthy and have a healthy baby!!!
