Do you put your phone number on your checks?

Do you put your phone number on your checks?

Do you put your phone number, drivers license, on your checks?

Do you think it is too risky to have that information on the checks?

Or is it more of a hassle to have to give them your phone number every time you write a check?

Pls explain your thoughts.

Thanks.

I haven't used checks in about two years. I use cash or a debit card but at my store, we require a 'phone number. We don't care about Driver's Licenses but the company that handles our checks for us require a 'phone number. Of course, someone could give us a false number. We don't care; we pay that company to track-down bogus check writers and they do it very well.

phone is printed on it, they can write the DL if they need it, which they usually do to verify who I am.

I only have my po box and home phone number.

Remember back in the day where you had your social on there?

Well...my ex was in the military....and everyone had their social on their checks...freakin crazy!

There are some people who are care free when it comes to their info...but I am familiar with identity theft and how to protect myself...and what to do if I fall victim to it...I feel pretty safe =)

I put as little info as possible on everything.
I mostly don't write checks. I pay cash or debit.
I love my debit card--much easier than checks.

My checks have a phone number on them, but I'm a guy and less worried about who might call and harass. I rarely use checks any more. Credit card spending is kept under control and give me cash back anyway.
