Great question! My gut response answer would be as long as it took to get it untoned:) Probably depends on the person, but doing lots of stairs, up and down, running, jogging in the shallow end of the pool, if you like the water, should certainly help, as well as working out at a gym, or getting a stair stepper.

Depends on what you think tone is....

Tone is the building of lean muscle, but most people perceive it as weight lost (to lose the fat over the muscle that gives it the 'cottage cheese' look). Either way, if you are looking for a better bum, do both weight lifting and cardio. Lunges are excellent because they incorporate both!

I would say if you did a consistent routine (at least 3 times a week for 30 min) you will notice a difference in 3 weeks. (My 3-3-3 rule)

If 13 weeks of military bootcamp is any indication pushups will make for a tone butt!!!
