What do Chocolate covered Grasshoppers taste like?

A friend had some last night, but I passed. I've had Chocolate covered Ants and they just tasted like Choclate covered Rice Kispie?

Never tried them but a friend gave me a chocolate covered nugget that I thought was a nut. Turned out to be pork. I am a vegetarian. Chocolate covered pork. Something America can certainly do without.

I've tried the ants too, and your description is good...chocolate covered rice krispies. :)

When I was a kid, someone had these and was passing them around. Ants are tiny, so I managed to try that...I could not bring myself to try the grasshopper...just too big of a bug. They were eating them like nothing...eww.

It all depends on how they are prepared, are they steamed or baked or fried or even marinated before they are covered in chocolate. How it is prepared makes a big difference in the over all taste. Ive had them many different ways, only do to a survival school I attended.

Also check out Andrew Zimmermans "Bizzar Foods", on the foodNetwork, there is nt anything that man hasnt eaten.

Aw, leave the ants alone. Some creatures need them to eat and survive. Stick with the Rice Krispies :)

Well I will never know. I cant even eat meat with fat on it. I eat only the white on the chicken. I most likely would die of starvation, I know its not good. Sorry I am too much of a picky eater. Wish I could, just to try it. But I know deep inside I wouldn't. My friend has kids who have tried eating dried grasshoppers legs and they offered, no thanks. Oh well to ea his own. Hey but at least you tried the ants.

I watched an episode of Saved By The Bell once where they had that and I was inspired to try though I've never done so. I did read some reviews that suggest it's an aquired taste and that the most difficult part is getting past the crunch. Maybe someday I can join the ranks...

Where's the vomit bag?

I don't think I could eat ANY kind of insect without throwing up. I would, however, be willing to try rattlesnake some day.

I will not eat ants any day.
I will not eat ants, though you pay.
I will not eat them on a stick.
I will not eat them for I'll be sick.
I will not eat them though YOU may.
I will not eat them, this I say!

I would think the chocolate would mask their real taste. I once had a bug fly into my mouth when I was riding a motorcycle. It tasted very metallic, tart, tangy. Gave me the creeps, lol.
