Can you charge a laptop without an ac adapter cord?

I have an Toshiba Satellite a215 laptop and my power cord stop working. Is there another way to charge it without the cord?

Yes,if the power supply you use has the correct voltage and polarity.

I would not try out the theory. I would only feel safe using an AC Adapter that the maker of the PC issues. When you invest in something so important, it is not worth the risk to test out an idea or WORK-AROUND.

That Adapter is worth the money.
