just curious about online dating....

For those of you who have tried on-line dating, how many contacts do/did you average per day? How many of those do you respond back to?

I'm sorry...I meant how many winks/emails/icebreaker s did you receive on average??

I did, and we stayed in communication all day everyday. It was infatuation and the belief that I could actually truly know and love someone I'd never met. It's fine to do the online thing as long as you take the communication from offline, phones, texts, and emails, to real face to face interactions. You just have to make sure you've done your research on the person. That someone knows about the person. And, be as safe as you could possibly be when you do go out. I know there are some success stories for some. But, there are more that don't work out.

But, that type of thing gets old for one or the other. I don't care how many times you communicate or contact each other. You'll eventually want to be in their presence without it being long distance travels twice out of the year. You want spontaneity! If the thought hit you to go to the movies, you want to be able to just pick up the phone and discuss times. Not, talk online or on the phone about how much you "wished" you could hang out. The minutes used and the longing can get a bit much. It's not enough just to hear a voice or read. How can you truly get to know someone that way? They could be saying or writing anything.

A lot depends on the site. If you want to find a half way decent man, you're better off on the pay sites. It does happen that those who aren't paying, can't wink back.

You can't take it person if you don't get one back. Alot depends on your profile and picture. Many factors....

i've tried many....

for free sites, between 5 and 10 emails a day, sites where both have to pay, about 2 emails a day.
