Painful knees so gaining weight

My knees are very painful so doing my twice daily walks with my dogs has dribbled down to once daily or once every other day. Less walking means I'm not working off as many calories. So I'm gaining weight.

Anyone have good products you can recommend to alleviate knee pain so I can back to my daily exercise? Glucosamine/chondroitin and the like, cause gastrointestinal problems, aspirin and similar is bad to take consistently. Help!

I have subluxating patellas and chondomalagia (pre-arthritis-or arthritis at this point).

Thank you.

Topical arnica gel or cream...
Great shoes like Cheung Shi and a set or orthotics to make sure your foot is striking the ground in a manner that is not compounding your knee issues.

I have the same problems with shin splint from running. I got a bicycle....takes the weight off of my joints and still gives me a good workout.

My sister has that problem and she was told to ride a stationery bike. She said it helped a lot. I'm right behind ya. ;)

Have the knees replaced. They are only going to get worse anyway. I had one done several year ago due to an old injury and I have NEVER been sorry! It use to lock up on me when I was walking, pain all the time, and it was just steadly getting worse. Arthiritis had set in.

This may sound nuts, but they say WD40 is suppose to be good for sore joints. Have you tried buying one of those tensor knee braces and see if that helps?

Augment your treatments with REIKI healing sessions.

If you go to a really dedicated/gifted Reiki practitioner---omg---it 's amazing.

Reiki works at the mental, emotional, spiritual, AND physical levels---so that the underlying SOURCE of what is creating the physical symptoms is addressed.

You won't find THAT in a bottle of pills---although those can be very helpful too.
