Indentation in lower leg

indentation in lower leg

My mom every now and then will show me her leg and it will have an indentation in it..like its clay and someone pushed it in..then it'll go away..this happening on her lower legs..both of them..not @ the same time tho..can anyone please tell me what u think this is..

It sounds like she has oedema in the legs, which is a build up of fluid. Causes of this can vary from a local injury, but they CAN be serious, so she really does need to see a Doctor.

The only way she can find out is if she goes to her doctor. We are not qualified medical people so whatever we think it could be, is probably not! Good luck! :)

it's edema, or swelling

It's fluids in the tissue.
She is retaining water.

Do her legs appear to look swollen? Could be she has water in her legs, they need to drained....Don't overlook this problem., see a Dr.

That sounds like pitting edema. Her legs may be swelling beneath the skin. SHe needs to get this checked out immediately. It could indicate a vascular problem.
