The Doomsday Vault

Have you heard about the Doomsday Vault?

The thing up in Iceland or Greenland where they stored all the seeds for every plant on Earth?

What else do you think we should be storing like that? Shouldn't knowledge be simlarly preserved?

What else?

I have heard of that vault, but if there aren't any humans left on this planet, who is going to plant or need those seeds????? Books, tapes for languages music, heritage of man, religion.

Wow! That's pretty cool! I've never heard of that.

I think there should be a music vault also. Imagine losing all these years of music. I think if the world came to an end, whoever was left might need a good jam to pick `em up! :)

(I sincerely hope they have some pot seeds in that vault..) LOL

The plastic rings that hold 6-packs together. Otherwise, how will they know what the hell we did with THAT?

Seriously, yes, I think all knowledge should be preserved. Medicine, history, geology... all of the will be crucial.

I haven't heard of that yet. I don't doubt it though.

I agree we should preserve knowledge, but am wondering should we use brains kept in jars or hard drives.

Specs on every modern invention as well as medical procedures and the 'recipes' for common drugs. You never know who will be left. It would be sad to have sick people and not be able to help them.

Have you seen that vault? Pretty cool set up. I think there is also a vault somewhere with diseases.

I'm afraid if we were to store things like genes and stuff like that, we could turn into Brave New World.

Can you imagine health insurance companies pro-rating premiums contingent up a genes test??

I hope I'm dead by then.

Over here, we have 3 libraries where, by law, a copy of every book published in this country must be deposited (the British Library, the Bodleian Library in O****d and Cambridge University Library).
