they don't respect women or men, lack empathy and get off on being deceptive. They are scammers and not ever putting their sincere feelings on the line. It is just a game....to see who they can seduce and get to have feelings for them to boost their ego and then they move on....

Well, of course, it depends on the particular individual. No two are the same, so we have to speak in generalities. That being said, the mentality of some is akin to that of the hunter,
out to "bag" the prey, as it were. More often, i think, it is feeding the player's ego appetite. For others, dating fills the need for validation of one's worth and attractiveness.
