But it's a special day!
But it's a special day! / Married Life / 4:59 PM - Tuesday May 13, 2008
A Married Girl (Female, 36-45, Home Maker) asked:

When your Birthday comes up and it lands on a work day, do you take the day off to be with your loved ones OR do you simply just go to work?

My hubby's Birthday is this Thursday BUT he says he HAS to go to work...*sniffs & pouts* I just tell him ''FINE...GO SPEND YOUR BIRTHDAY WITH YOUR COWORKERS....get it? COW...ORKERS! LMAO...never mind!

I work at a Marshalls, and I don't have to go to work on my birthday. I get to stay home, and I get paid (the amount of hours I get depend on how long I was working there for) and if I do work, I get paid time and a half.

At one of the jobs I had you got your birthday off as a paid vacation day!! Those were some of my best birthdays ever!

Happy b-day to your hubby. When he gets home serve his favorite meal and a b-day cake and ask where would he like the whipped cream...

Got to work. I can't remember the last time my b-day fell on a weekend, and I don't know of any of my coworkers who took off for their birthday. We may slide out a little early to go to dinner or something, but that's about the extent of it.

I go to work... but you wanna know the sad thing? I'm part-time, for almost three years, and I've noticed how they decorate peoples' desks when it's their birthday... they never decorated mine, never said a word :( But, with my new job, I'll be working with my best friend and I KNOW she'll decorate my desk! :D

I can take any day off I like, so I usually wind up working on my birthday... It sucks, but I need the bucks.
If I could get my lovely top ex-client to go to dinner, I'd chnage my routine.

Oh, grow up. Your birthday is waaaay down the list of important commitments that your husband has. He has obligations, as do you, I'm sure, so plan for a special birthday time that does not interfere with your responsibilities.

I am with you ! I actually think my birthday is the only holiday I celebrate!! I even came up with celebrating for as many days as you are old !! I like that one. Maybe your hubbys job won't let him have the day off. I also feel you can pick a day and make it the birthday celebration day. Doesn't have to be the "birth" day. My hubby travels for a living and is never home on his birthday. This year we both skipped the celebrations on the actual birthdays (me-March...him - april)
to have a huge celebration of our 20th wedding anniversary in AMSTERDAM !!!! 8 days of total celebrating. I have never been to Europe. Very excited. 20 years of wedded bliss on May 17. And we get to celebrate everything together. which is the best. Happy Birthday to your hubby.........maybe you can change his mind in the morning. Best of luck to you.
