Job closing the door
Job closing the door / Career / 11:50 AM - Sunday May 11, 2008
(Male, 36-45) asked:

My company is about to close its doors, given my occupation, its almost impossible to find another job like it. I will be making considerably less money. I'm at risk of losing everything because my dependance on it... Now that I am there, it doesn't surprise me people do things that are not rational. I'm freaking out & stressed to the max.

Turn a negative into a positive. Before you say, "Yeah, right!" really think about it. Every time something bad has happened to me, I've asked myself how I could turn it into an opportunity for something better, and it's worked every time. In 6 months you will look back and say, "I'm glad I lost that job, because if that hadn't happened, I wouldn't have found this one, and I'm not only making MORE money, but I'm much happier." Grieve briefly for what you are losing, and then start looking for the opportunity that surely exists. You are better than one job!

In our area most of the decent paying jobs are gone so the people here have taken 2 min wage jobs and still have to cut way back on their lifestyle to make up the diffrence in what they make
