A Mommy's Prayer
A Mommy's Prayer / Family & Parenting / 8:30 PM - Saturday May 10, 2008
A Creative (Female, Who Cares?) asked:

Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day
With little time to stop and pray
For life's been anything but calm
Since You called on me to be a mom
Running errands, matching socks
Building dreams with building blocks
Cooking, cleaning, and finding shoes
And other stuff that children lose
Fitting lids on bottled bugs
Wiping tears and giving hugs
A stack of last weeks mail to read
So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet when I steal a minute, Lord
Just at the sink or ironing board
To ask the blessings of Your grace
I see then, in my small one's face
That you have blessed me
All the while
And I stop to kiss
That precious smile

Thank you.

I needed that. I just finished dealing with the cops a little while ago. I needed something to calm my nerves.

I am copying this and printing it for myself, and am going to make one for my sis with her 2 girl's pictures in with it and frame it.

thanks :)

That is sooooooooooooo beautiful and true. Things do get hectic and time is so short, but taking the time for our children is more important than anything.

I love poetry and this one just tells such a touching story on what we have to go through to be a mom! But in the end, seeing that smile on your child's face makes it all worth it! Did you write this? Really nice!

Hi Florence(ha ha)!,
yes that about sums it up,sometimes we wonder if the drudgery of parenthood is worth it and then you remember their smiling face or seeing them in the nativity play and it all seems worthwhile.
Love your questions,love you!!
