No, I'm too honest and I'm completely politically incorrect and I'm a moderate who would refuse to vote for laws just to make the extremes happy.

I would make a lousy politician. All my emotions are easily read on my face, and I am not easily decieved. I do not care enough about money to be bought. All those things are solid proof that I could never be a poitician.

I'm not saying politicians necessarily always lie, but I am saying it is necessary for them to be diplomatic--and I have the uncomfortable habit of generally saying what I think when I'm around people that I think should listen to my opinion.

Academia is pretty free and open in comparison to the noose of politics--I wouldn't be happy in a situation where every word and phrase can be used against you.

So, no--I'm too blunt and brutally honest to be a politician. I'm not even saying that's a good thing on my part. It's just who I am. I could never have been a good geisha girl either. ;P

This is very interesting to me.
Most of us admit that we do not have the verbal skills, charisma, dedication, to be effective politicians. Yet, many of us denigrate politicians and the job they do. I am not asserting that some politicians fail and abuse their positions. I am stating that as a democratic society , we ironically denigrate the role. We get what we deserve.
