Nutrisystem opinions....Who has used the NutriSystem program? I was thinking about purchasing it short term (2 months - I know its expensive) and wanted to hear some good and bad stories about your experience with the program. Any stories out there?? - Asked by Female, 46-55 |

I know of people who went on Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig and ended up losing their gallbladders because there wasn't enough fat in the diet to keep things functioning properly. These diets do work - the problem is, when you go off the diet, you can end up gaining all of the weight back that you lost unless you continue to modify your eating habits and stick with an exercise program. Weight Watchers is a good program, and is a lot cheaper, and works!

My SO lost 60 pounds on it. He found it to be expensive but it worked well.

Okay I'm someone who has certifications in the fitness field (personal training), and I'm looking to go back to school for dietetics. The best "diets" are the ones that are not short term. The term diet is used in the wrong context a lot of times, and seems to refer to it as a short term solution or a quick fix. The best way is to make a conscience decision to change your eating habits other than a short term "diet". Balance, and portion control are the keys to a healthy diet along with exercise (could be as little as a brisk walk for 20 minutes three times a week). Good luck.

Personally, I am too picky about what I put in my mouth and too good of a cook to ever get on something like this or Jenny Craig, isnt this more pre made meals? They are gross, like Tv dinners, arent they. I reached my goal with Isagenix, and I know its healthy, not full of preservatives like those other things, lots of organics and vitamins, minerals, and it has a wonderful cellular cleanse, (detox), and its 2 simple meal replacement shakes a day and one 400-600 calorie dinner, its simple and I plan to do this indefinately,I dont eat fastfood anymore. But I know many people that have been on Jenny, including my parents and they lose and they gain it back, once they go back to their old eating habits, this has been my first time on isagenix, and Its been almost a year and I have kept the weight off, even through the holidays. Dont forget about eating/snacking on as many raw veggies and fruit as possible, carrots and broccoli are excellent raw, and almonds.Good luck,
