Yeast infection.... for how long?

How long does a yeast infection last? My wife has one... major cramp in style!!! She's using medication but wondering even then how long it'll last.

You use the meds for probably three days, but the infection still takes SEVEN days to clear up.

Even the madly expensive use it just one day meds still take a solid seven days to clear up the infection.

Depends what kind of meds she's using. If she's using a vaginal suppository (or anything inserted vaginally) that can cause a condom to break. Needless to say doing it without a condom at this point is not wise. Even men get sick a lot more difficult, they can still pass it back to the woman as they are carriers.

The best idea would be to take the tablets (Diflucan/Diflazon etc.) those are one pill only! Meaning after 2-3 days she should be ok. Why that long? After taking the pill it needs about 48 hours to flush everything out (you notice it, even your eyes get discharge) and then you're ok.

A yeast infection can also recur (nasty!), especially if you don't use good hygiene or your partner is a carrier. Why don't you get treated, even if you don't have symptoms (men rarely do)? Just pop that one Diflucan pill and you're done.

So to your question: usually after 2-3 days she should be ok. If it takes longer, maybe it's not yeast or maybe she's not managing it with the right medicine...

Reading some of the previous posts (that some meds can break a condom) that means you could become a carrier of the yeast infection (without having any symptoms yourself), and at some point reinfect your wife. So maybe for a few weeks, just pleasure yourself in the bathroom, and give the Mrs. some time to recover.

Put her in a warm, non-drafty place and give it time to rise and double in volume. Then punch it down and knead it for five minutes...oh, wait- that's for bread dough...never mind.

Depends on the medication. Some of it clears it up in one dose so it's gone in a couple of days.

Oh, I forgot. If she's not having the one day pill but gets the vaginal suppositories, those have to be taken for at least 3 days, sometimes 5. Check the package, it says there how long to use it. Once she's done using it, wait a day or two for the vaginal discharge to clear up (meaning to have no vaginal discharge or normal discharge - clear and not whitish- as fits the cycle moment). That takes you to a full week of no fun...
