(Female, 29-35) asked:

My legs are really sore from exercising and I am having a hard time recovering. I am on a weight loss program that involves weight training and lots of cardio. I am losing weight, but my bodies recovery time is much slower than it was even 2 weeks ago. I have been working out intensively for 8 weeks and have lost 22 pounds.

Update: November 06, 2007.
lol, I meant to ask what do I do for the muscle soreness I am experiencing.

The muscle soreness is not surprising. Are you getting enough protein in your diet? Whey protein shakes can help the body recover from exercise. Are you stretching adequately? A full warm up and cool down is a pain (hard enough to find the time and motivation for the exercise itself) but the need increases as the years go by. I recommend exercising every other day, stretching, monitoring your protein intake, and Advil. For me those things (plus a big steak or burger - but that may not be something you like) help out.
The muscles are tearing and recovering when you lift and run. That creates soreness and swelling. It won't go away completely, but a day's rest, the right nutrients, and pain killers help.
The truth is that exercise makes you look good, maybe helps your internals (cardiovascular health, cholesterol, etc.) but makes you feel like crap.

the muscle soreness is normal.usually the second day is worse then the first day.u can soak in hot water or do a light owrk out.this will help lubricate your muscles and make things better.
also u could be over working your muscles..u sholdn't do weight lifting more then 3 times a week..but for your body to get used to working out usually takes about 6-8 weeks especially if u haven't been working out before now.your body is in shock right now..u r making it do things it's not used to doing.keep doing what u r doing andthe muscle pain will lessen.

The best thing to do is to have a schedule to exercise and what I mean by that is:
Most people work out 3-4 days a week
for every day you work out choose a different area of the body to work on because you need 72 hours for your muscles to recover. for example

Monday you work on your upper body (legs, chest, etc...). 72 hours later you can work on these body parts
if you come back tuesday, work on your lower body part and allow 72 hours for muscles to recover
Wednesday work on your mid section and allow 72 hours for muscles to recover.

the days don't have to be consecutive but it is just an example. the point is that you need to allow 72 hours to your muscles to recover.
