Would you say that birth control pills are more effective than condoms?

i usually use condoms and keep a close check on my menstral cycle to try and estimate when im going through ovulation. But recently my partner has asked me if i ever considered using birth control pills.

Birth control pills are definitely more effective than condoms. Condoms can break, fall off, etc. But birth control pills aren't effective against AIDS & STDs.

Birth control is effective against just what its name implies..."birth or pregnancy"....condoms are as well but can malfunction but are also effective agaist transmission of stds unlike oral birth control.
I would say if you and your partner have both been tested for stds and you know you both are clean then by all means see your doctor for the birth control pill regime that would be best for you.
It is more convenient and is equally as effective.
Just remember to take it as directed, dont skip or miss days, and read the possible side effects so your not surprised if you should exhibit some....take care...~~LazVegzchk~~;)

BC and condoms have pretty similiar success rates if used properly. The safest is actually both together. And o course only condoms protect againist STDs.

But if you are going to switch from condoms to the pill, you both need to wait until it has been six months since you last partner and get tested. You also have to be 100% sure that both of you will be faithful.

One is not more effective than the other but together, they are nearly 99% successful. It's always better to use both methods to ensure that you don't unintentionally miscalculate, risk getting anything and/or have a 'swimmer' get through the condom. Condoms can get little holes in them and can cause pregnancy so their success rate is actually 97% and birth control pills are 97% alone. Together they have a higher success rate so if you don't want to get pregnant or contract an STD, use both.

I agree. Condoms help for stds, but if you and your partner are safe....birth control is a great option. I love the pill I'm currently using, and I never have to worry about the pregnancy factor. Also, birth control pills help keep your hormones and period regular. They can also keep your skin from breaking out, and reduce some types of cancer.
I currently take Seasonelle so I only have my period 4 times a year, and I love it just for that reason alone! I never even buy tampons or pads because I hardly ever need them. My period is lighter and shorter, and I feel like there is no pms. I really like it, but it's up to you. Condoms AND birth control are probably your best and most safe option though. Good Luck!

Condoms can prevent stds but can also break. So if you have a stable partner, and remember to take them every day, I think they're way better.
