A Thinker (Female, New South Wales, 18-21, Student) asked:

please give me your opinion here.
i have a very nice picture of my S/O and i, and i was thinking of giving it to an arty friend of mine and paying her to draw it out for me to give to him for our second anniversary (fyi we didnt celebrate, or give gifts for our first anniversary, it was a massive let-down). is this the kind of gift that a guy would actually like to recieve?
thanks

I personally would love this gift but its more about the sense of art one has. Your person may like to have Georgia Armani suit or a branded perfume. But, my preference would be a pic specially drawn for me.

the thought is sweet! i think he'd love it, but may only show you how much he loves it... don't expect him to brag about it to anyone else... haha!! but yea... guys are surprizingly sentimental..

This would be a great gift and it is something that he will probably keep for a long time. My brother and his wife got the same thing done and they are very proud of it. It was my brother's idea and he gave it to his wife and she was not only surprised but was taken back by how much he cared to get this portrait of them done. It is hung in their living room where everyone can see it and she talks about it as much as she can with anyone she can.

Make it you in the picture, not him. We don't like looking at ourselves.
