Do you have any suggestions for the slim fast diet? Like is it safe, what are some helpful tips? Like should I eat early in the morning and what time should I have my last meal. I weigh 150, target is 120 and I'm 5'6. I have done the diet before for 2 weeks and lost 10 pounds. It took me 3 months to gain the weight back bc I go through these phases where I eat out for my meals. I also plan on taking green tea caplets for energy and to see if it speeds up my metabolism. Also, is there anything I can do for motivation to stick to the diet?

6 Long Years... / Body & Self-Image / 10:21 AM - Wednesday September 13, 2006 Back To Top
A Sweet Sarah (Female, Minneapolis, 18-21, Retail) asked:

I've been struggling with an eating disorder since I was 14 years old. I am now 20 years old and still struggling. I've tried everything from not eating and working out 8 hours a day, throwing up my food even when I ate nothing and just plain old not eating and doing nothing.

I've tried numerous eating/exercise plans and just about every diet pill and fad diet out there. My ex-boyfriend has been there for me for the past 2 years, we are even talking about getting back together, but he's worried about me. He and I had a discussion last night because I want to try another eating plan. I've used it before, with a doctor's supervision and I lost weight quickly. Now I want to do it on my own, but only for a couple of weeks and he's completely against it. He thinks it will only fuel my eating disorder by going from plan to plan, but I havent been on one for a long time. He's still against it. He says it doesnt matter, but if I eat healthy and work out the normal way, that would help me more because I'd be doing it without any diets or pills. He says it's an addiction and by going to another plan, it will only fuel it. I told him I want to do this and then get off it and maintain my weight, but he thinks if I do it, I'll just make myself worse and make myself think I have to depend on diets to lose weight. What do you think? Should I listen to his advice and try losing weight (with his help) the 'normal' way with slower results or should I do it my way for a month and then wean myself off the diet plan and into a healthy eating/exercise routine? I'm worried he might be right, but I'm so sick of wanting to lose weight and not seeing the results, I just want to do the plan to lose weight and then maintain rather than eat regular meals and try....any ideas/advice?

A Life of the Party (Female, Denver, 26-28, Student) asked:

Who here is on a summer diet plan? How is it going for you so far?
I think I am on the best diet plan ever. I go grocery shopping for only healthy brown bag lunch type items then I pay all my bills so that I cannot afford to eat fast food.....takes away the temptation.....

then my roommate stole the TV and I don’t have one, so when I get home I’m bored and if I want to watch TV I have to go put myself on the treadmill at the gym to watch any thing.

Also when I get back from the gym I have more energy but still no TV so I end up cleaning or doing some kind of house hold activity.....

Funny......and she is always at home watching TV in her room eating pizza and macaroni and cheese .......I guess her selfishness will work in my benefit still.

Hi all, I want to lose about 40 pounds. Has anyone here lost this much weight or know someone who has? I have outlined my diet plan and excercise plan. I was just wondering how long it will likely take to lose this much weight? Assuming I don't cheat and exercise every day. Thanks.
